1996. R.E.M. – New Adventures In Hi-Fi. I'm not especially into R.E.M. but I really love about eight of their songs. All the R.E.M. albums I've heard (Murmur through to Up, but nothing since) include about two truly great songs, three or four good-to-OK songs, and some filler. New Adventures In Hi-Fi may be their most consistently good album.

2008. Aidan John Moffat – I Can Hear Your Heart. Still love this.

The Pretenders – The Singles (1987 compilation). Excellent. What an underrated band.
Yes, I'd like to hear the Moffat too.
ReplyDeleteAfter 25–30 years, those Pretenders songs still sound fresh. Chrissie Hind is the key. The songs, arrangements and production are first class, but would be nothing without her.
